For those of you not participating the the actual tournament or wondering if these are the only specials we have at each bar, they are not. All of the bars have other affordable specials which will be included on your score sheets that will be given to you on Saturday. Above are simply the designated drinks set for those competing for the coveted green jacket or matching sweater vests.
Again for those passing this along to their wives, girlfriends, girlfriends friends, or friends the rules of Bar Golf are listed below. I will also explain the rules of bar golf on Saturday prior to Teeing off.
Hope to see you all the the first tee on Saturday.
From The Social Committee
How Bar Golf Works?
- There are 9 Holes (9 Bars)
- At each hole there is a set drink.
- For each specified drink that you finish you get a point. Your first drink puts you at par (Zero), your second drink would put you at -1, third drink at -2, fourth drink at -3 and so forth.
- Drinking a Non-Sanctioned Beverages is a +1 Penalty, so by having 3 sanctioned drinks and then a non-sanctioned drink your score would be at -1 at the end of that hole (bar)
- Throwing-up is a +5 Penalty (Unless you throw-up on your partner, in which case no penalty is exacted)
- Skipping a Hole is a +3 Penalty
- Getting sent home by your wife or significant other disqualifies you from the tour and subjects you to embarressment and further ridicule from the entire team
If you don't want to play Bar Golf and you just want to join the Pub Crawl and get hammered by all means you are inclined to do so. However, for those who do want to play we will divide it up into two Brackets. The singles bracket (which will play for a Green Jacket) and then the couples bracket (which will play for matching sweater vests). And yes I will be purchasing these Items from the thrift store. The singles tournament will be played exactly how bar golf has been explained above. However, for those on the couples tour you will be playing scramble rules. For example if you have the set drink at one bar while your wife/girlfriend drinks a glass of wine then you will be good and you will be assessed a point. Your wife or girlfriend can then take the reins on the second bar or second drink at that bar you are at. However if you both are having a non-sanctioned drink then you will be assessed a +2 penalty.
